What I'm reading and what's for dinner

I've had several friends of mine recommend "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson, and I started reading it today. I admit it was a bit hard at first to think I might enjoy it because I've been reading a lot of female 1st person POV books, and the first character you meet is an elderly man. However, I do like the writing and think it could be interesting, so I'm sure I'll stick with it unless it really drags in the middle.

Another book I've been reading is The Pioneer Woman Cooks. It might not be a novel, but I love to read cookbooks. This one is especially satisfying since I've discovered so many recipes that are hubby friendly. Tonight I made her enchiladas, and while the hubby liked them he took issue with the cilantro. He just isn't a fan in general, and even though I used just a little tiny bit he wasn't happy. In the future I'll probably just omit it and tone down the chilies and onions too--at least until the kiddos are a bit older.

Trying it again

I tried blogging a couple of years ago. It didn't work out, and I think it is because it only encompassed a small (yet significant to me) part of my life. Since then I've discovered that I should write what I know. While I certainly realize I'm no expert in any one area (the more you know the more you realize you don't know), I think sharing my journey could be fun.
